Notre "Rando Repas Terroir"

How can you combine a quiet ride to a viewpoint and an authentic local meal in the open air ?

All through the summer we organise a lovely ride, accessible to all riders (taken at walking pace, so with mainly inexperienced riders).

You’ll arrive in time for lunch on the slopes of the Pibeste natural reserve, with a breathtaking view over the whole valley. We’ll be waiting for you with the grill and tables and chairs in the shade where you’ll be able to enjoy an authentic meal sourced locally at the Ayzi Farm in Ouzous, run by the Noguez family (beef, artisan pork products, cheese and vin du pays).

As you make the most of this delicious, plentiful meal, comfortably installed on the natural gigantic terrace formed by the Ilhens plateau, we’ll tell you about our horses, the summer pastures, the mountains and our life as farmers. We’ll be sitting down to a friendly meal together, and riders from all over will be sharing experiences with local people.

 

 

The day’s schedule

10.30 Riders arrive, get helmets, climb up into the saddle, stirrups are adjusted, short training session by the instructor.
11.00 Ride off from the farm, cross two mountain villages, climb up the Pibeste mountain path (stunning views all along the route, photo opportunities).
12.15 Arrive on the Ilhens plateau, dismount, tie up the horses in the shade.
12.30 – 1.45 lunch
2.00 Set off on horseback back to the riding centre arriving around 3pm.
3.00 Prolong the pleasure a little by relaxing on the terrace of the Bourdalat bar with a cool drink, a cup of coffee or an ice cream !
