Our horses

Vanessa, la Doyenne

Our herd of horses has also grown since 1993 !

1993 was the year Pierre acquired the young Vanessa (born in 1990). Crazy about horse breeding, he quickly had her mounted, and that’s how Feria, Anis, Opale and Mouchette appeared on the scene; they became our main brood mares, from whom our herd descends.

So the great majority of horses at Bourdalat were born, raised and broken in at the Farm. Breaking-in and work with the horses is carried out on “ethological” principles, and our horses are regularly treated by osteopaths.
They live as a herd, in semi-freedom, which makes them exceptionally stable (psychologically speaking), multi-functional and safe; as far as possible we try to respect their natural instincts.

 

Our ponies

 

For the younger ones, we have 11 ponies who are completely used to children, and are perfect playmates for games, learning and rides.

The oldest (retiring in 2018) : Petite Etoile and Pamela
The long-term residents : Roudoudou and Rintintin
The newest arrivals have been specially trained for children : Vanille, Boutchou, Cerise, Popi, Bouba, Tralala and Ponita
